Event Details

In 2018, there will be a new majority in America. This Emerging Majority - Latinos, African-Americans, American Indians, Asian-American/Pacific Islanders, and unmarried women - has the potential to reshape our country. But even as their population grows, Emerging Majority citizens lag far behind the general public in voter registration rates.

Want to learn more about the Emerging Majority? Read our new research report.

On February 16-17, 2012, we're convening organizers from around the country who are focused on engaging the Emerging Majority in the American political process through voter registration.

Voter Registration RootsCamp is an un-conference, driven by participants, with core sessions presented by experts in a variety of fields. Come prepared to share your work, and learn from others in the field.

Learn about new tools and technology, how to connect issue campaigns and voter registration, new techniques for mail and online registration, research and targeting, and planning for legal/rapid response, all while extending a national community of organizers and organizations committed to engaging the Emerging Majority through voter registration.

Registration for this event is $25, and opens January 3, 2012. RSVP here to be the first to receive updates.

This event is separate from RootsCamp 2012, but we encourage you to participate in both events if you're able.

We’re a community of organizers, and we’re committed to solving the biggest challenges that stand in the way of change.

Our basic belief is simple: if people have the skills to engage others, the tools to build powerful campaigns, and a community of practice to help them learn and grow, they can win real change, make measurable improvements in people’s lives, and restore faith in our government and our democracy.

We train organizers to build and manage effective movements by integrating tried-and-true community organizing, cutting-edge digital strategy, and data-driven decision making. We provide free access to revolutionary tools, technologies, and research to help campaigns reach the next level. And we build a community of practice that connects organizers across issues, creating a more integrated, more diverse, and more dynamic movement for change.

We're working to produce the best leaders and strongest movements of our generation. We help campaigns win today, while working to build capacity and infrastructure that will allow us to keep winning into the next generation.
